Secret DUO is a well-tolerated procedure. Session length depends on whether your treatment plan involves radiofrequency microneedling, 1540nm erbium-glass laser, or both modalities, and typically ranges from 30-60 minutes. Prior to treatment, a numbing cream will be applied to increase comfort. You may feel warmth, tingling, and pinching sensations during treatment. Appointment slots are booked for a minimum of 60 minutes depending on the extent of treatment.

Secret DUO offers both radiofrequency microneedling and 1540nm erbium-glass laser treatments.

Radiofrequency microneedling is more effective than "standard" non-radiofrequency microneedling as the application of radiofrequency energy to the dermis layer stimulates more collagen production than microneedling alone. This allows for treatment goals to be achieved with fewer sessions compared to non-radiofrequency microneedling. Compared to other radiofrequency microneedling systems, Secret DUO has precise depth control and a smooth motor that provide a more refined patient experience.

The 1540nm erbium-glass laser is classified as a fractional, non-ablative laser. Unlike ablative lasers such as CO2 lasers, erbium-glass non-ablative lasers do not remove the epidermis (outermost layer of the skin). By not removing the epidermis, Secret DUO laser treatment reduces downtime and the risk of complications compared to CO2 lasers. The gentler nature of erbium-glass laser also makes it suitable for all skin tones, whereas ablative lasers can only be used for lighter skin tones.

Secret DUO treatments are highly customizable depending on your treatment goals. By combining radiofrequency microneedling and laser treatment during the same clinic visit, you may be able to achieve your aesthetic goals more efficiently.

Please discontinue vitamin C and retinoids one week prior to your appointment. Avoid excessive sun exposure, tanning beds, tanning products, and treatments that may irritate that skin such as waxing and depilatories two weeks prior to your appointment.

On the day of your appointment, refrain from wearing makeup as you will need to wash your face in clinic prior to treatment.

Secret DUO is a highly customizable treatment that can have minimal downtime depending on the amount of energy delivered to the skin. It is important to discuss your goals of treatment with your provider to tailor Secret DUO to your specific needs.

Please refrain from applying any skin products immediately post-procedure other than those recommended by your provider. A gentle cleanser is recommended in the evening following treatment. It is important to protect the skin from direct sun exposure following treatment. Daily SPF should be applied to the treatment area starting the day after treatment for a minimum of two weeks. Due to the amount of heat in the skin following treatment, defer vigorous physical activity and exposure to hot environments such as saunas for 48 hours. Due to increased permeability of the skin barrier, defer makeup for 24 hours and avoid submerging your face in water (e.g. swimming pools, hot tubs, oceans/lakes) for 72 hours. A streamlined skincare routine – consisting of cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and SPF – is  recommended for 7 days following treatment, after which you can resume your usual skincare products.
